The world is littered with unexploded bombs and landmines. The MK2 Dearmer uses either a .50 BMG (Nato) or 12.7×108mm cartridge (Russian or Chinese) to launch a hardened steel slug that disrupts a bomb's fuse, helping render unexploded bombs safe.
